Notes: BUNG-BONG- (Co. Talbot) is a postal township and railway station, in the
parish of Bung-Bong, and electoral district of Maryborough. It is situated on the
Bet-Bet creek, 5 miles E. from Avoca, 10½ miles S.W. from Maryborough, and
7 miles W. of Amherst. The communication is by rail. It is an agricultural and
pastoral district, with a little mining (alluvial and quartz). The surrounding
country is slightly elevated and flat, and the population about 400 persons. The
geological formation is upper volcanic.
